Red Zebra Broadcasting is seeking to hire a Traffic/ Continuity Specialist. The day to day duties include, but are not limited to: continuity with entering commercial copy, entering network & local schedules for all radio stations, completing network affidavits, verifying commercial logs, and interacting with sales, programming/ production and finance. This position will report directly to the Traffic Department Supervisor.
Desired Skills and Requirements
Previous traffic and continuity experience preferred. This position requires strict attention to detail and accuracy, ability to meet and work in a deadline driven environment, experience with Microsoft Excel and Word document computer programs. A team player with a can-do attitude with the ability to work independently or collaboratively; must be able to work with multiple people; agencies and advertisers. The ideal candidate will be hard working and work well under pressure with the ability to work productively and respectfully with colleagues at a variety of levels; must be available during the business hours of 9am – 6pm, Monday through Friday.

The Sports Account Executive position is an outside sales position based out of the broadcast facility in Rockville, Maryland. Account Executives are experienced media sales professionals able to generate revenue from local and regional advertisers and advertising agencies. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in advertising sales with an understanding of the Sports Talk format and personality driven content. Our account executives sell advertising across popular sports talk shows like Mike & Mike in the Morning, Tony Kornheiser, the Sports Fix, Inside the Locker Room, and the Sports Reporters as well as a wide array of play-by-play sporting events including Redskins Football, Orioles Baseball, University of Maryland Football and Basketball, NFL Playoffs, Super Bowl, and Georgetown University Basketball. We are looking for a self-starter with a consultative sales approach who is pro-active in generating new business and increasing advertising from existing advertisers.

1. Minimum of 2 to 3 years advertising sales experience with proven success.
2. Strong sales and customer service skills.
3. Superior phone, in-person, and written communication abilities.
4. Strong understanding of marketing dynamics including demographic and psychographic targeting and branding positions.
5. Results oriented, accountable, strong work ethic, proven negotiation skills.
6. Outstanding computer skills including solid knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
7. 4-year college degree, preferably Marketing and Advertising.

ESPN980 Street Team Member
ESPN 980 is in search of a few good all stars to join our street team! As an ESPN 980 street team member, you will serve as a brand ambassador and gain a first-hand perspective into the many aspects of the sports radio, marketing and advertising industries! This part-time position is perfect for those looking for experience in promotions & live events.
Setting up event and staging elements, attending promotions which include Redskins Games, Remote Broadcasts, station events, and sales appearances.
Supporting programming staff during live broadcasts, listener interaction at all events.
Must be dedicated, hard-working, self motivated and open to learning new skills through hands-on experience.
Must apply creativity and initiative to all projects.
Clear verbal skills and an outgoing, adaptive personality are essential.
Knowledge of media, sports and entertainment industries is preferred.
Must have access to reliable transportation, a clean driving record, and a comfort level driving station vehicles, full-size SUV’s.
Be able to lift at least fifty pounds and be able to learn how to set up station display materials.
Be available to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Ability to work a minimum of ten to twelve hours a week during football season.
Be able to work well in a team environment.

Principal Job Functions:
The purpose of this internship is to give students an opportunity to learn and provide support in the day to day operations of the Marketing & Client Services department. Responsibilities may include designing and creating new sales materials, planning and assisting in the execution of station promotional events, supporting the sales and marketing teams, client and market research, and working at station remote broadcasts including home game dates. Interns may also work with clients on day to day projects involving game day marketing campaigns and on-air advertising.
Skills and Abilities Required:
Applicants must be dedicated, hard-working, self motivated and open to learning new skills through hands-on experience. Must apply creativity and initiative to all projects. Clear verbal, written and typing/computer skills are essential. Knowledge of media, sports and entertainment industries is preferred. Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word programs are used daily.
Requirements and Reporting Structure:
This is an unpaid internship and students must earn college credit. Students must be entering at least their junior year in college to be considered. The main office location of Red Zebra Broadcasting is in Rockville, MD and applicants must be able to provide their own transportation to the station as well as possible events at FedEx Field in Landover, MD or Redskins Park in Ashburn, VA.
