Doc - I think you are hitting the nail on the head this morning and that things like character, leadership, desire, and insistence on disciplined organization matter as much - if not more than the statistics we share with each other after a disappointing loss.  I think the GM is key here and that we need to trust him to take a long view in rebuilding a team that he has acknowledge was soft in many of the issues just mentioned.  Thank you for your thoughts and see below my recent post to an un-named announcer who is a master of the stats and NEVER seems to acknowledge the importance of another view, a perspective that is shaped through a different experience, that of as a player who experienced disciplined leadership as a key ingredient.  Let the person rebuilding the team take us hopefully in  a better tougher direction!

Dear XXX [WTEM announcer]   -  You know as much as anyone else does about the directions this team needs to take.  Your mastery of stats is interesting but only as background.  Acknowledge that this team is not rebuilt yet and the GM will design the team around those pieces that best fit a broad, long-range plan.  My opinion matters as much as yours - as opinion that will have no influence over the decisions that GM SM will take.  THAT is the point we all are missing.  I think you must acknowledge that the quarterback wilted yet again in a big game, that the coach oversaw a team that arrived flat, that his assistants did not seem prepared to compete with a fully engaged Giants team, that the Redskins may indeed need leadership woven back into the team

The GM will take us in a new, different direction and will have the greatest influence over who will be held accountable and when.  In the meantime listen carefully to what sport fans are telling you today, respect those opinions, do not treat them with any degree of indifference, and take pride in the fact that so many people still follow this team and look forward tho sharing their frustrations with you and WTEM.  Be respectful to everyone's opinions - they matter as much as yours.
